Students presented their Persuasive Essays in a debate format! Whether they sided with the British and Loyalists, or the Patriots and the Colonies! This was our final project for Social Studies in the Road to Revolution unit! Students did so great with all their hard work in reading, researching, writing, editing, and publishing!

Our first grade buddies finished their websites and wanted to show us! After, students who attended SpaceFEST, conducted a science demonstration from the event teaching Bernoulli's Principle!
Our field trip to Leilehua High School's Fitness day! Student's had a blast rotating stations and learning new activities related to Fitness and Exercise!
The following PowerPoint goes through our Classroom Library Diversity Project. I've made a point to instruct students about what advocacy is, and how they can be advocates for change! One direct injustice we found as a class, was the diversity of main characters or protagonists in our class room library novels! We noticed a disproportionate about of characters being only caucasian males. I was initially inspired by Teaching for Change's website, and an article detailing a teacher and class doing this project! There are a couple student samples, but please feel free to ask your child to share theres! We printed published final drafts, and mailed them to Scholastic, but students have their own as well! |
