We had a wonderful field trip to the Honolulu Museum of Art. They had an interactive Colonial Exhibit that tied into our Colonization, 13 Colonies, and American Revolution Social Studies Units. Thank you to Deborah Bricker for chaperoning!
Have a great Spring Break! I'll be out of the country traveling until the 28th, so my email will be in and out. We return on Tuesday the 29th!
Students created "Time Capsules" to represent some of their learning from our Novel Study of My Brother Sam is Dead. They included a diary entry as a character, a letter as a character, a newspaper clipping from the Revolutionary War time frame, and a artifact to symbolize something in the book! Here's a glimpse!
We covered the States of Matter earlier in the year, but our 1st grade buddies were learning about the basics, and we thought we'd help them out in some labs! Thanks to Mrs. Young's class in H-3 with all the supplies!
Hello families of A-1, just a reminder of our field trip tomorrow. Home lunch only. Please have kids wear athletic shoes, shorts, and bring a water if possible.
Students got to see and practice the connection between measurement and fractions! Whether it be with liquids, weight, or length/width, we practiced using our measuring tools in the context of Fractions! Students also got to connect these fractions to percentages in decimals within magazines, and then make an art piece showing equivalents! They did great!
